5 WAYS TO FIGHT WINTER | LIFE AND STYLE | THE SHILPA DOLEY BLOG
WINTER
IS COMING! Although I don't enjoy winter, I think it's a good time to wear nice
and cozy sweaters, to get under blankets and to drink warm tea and soup. Every
year, I need some special preparations as winter dries out both my skin and hair.
And this year I am gonna do some clothing shopping too as I really need some
hoodies.

Want to know how I prepare for
winter? Forward!
I
Stock Up My Oils
I
am a huge lover of oils. I love to use
oils in my skincare and hair-care routine. But, I make sure that they are
organic, cold-pressed oils as mineral oils may end up doing more harm than
good. I fell in love with using oil for my skincare and haircare routines after
I came across @hollistichabits’s videos on the benefits of it. I love her
videos on Organic Self-Care. You must watch them too.
I
am running out of Argan oil, so, I am restocking it soon along with other oils.
It acts both as a skin and hair serum. Oils work wonders but do make sure, I
repeat, you use only organic, cold-pressed oils. Otherwise, it might clog your
pores.
I
didn't have a proper denim jacket so I recently purchased one from Shein. It's
an oversized medium wash ripped denim jacket. I love it and I guess I am gonna
wear it almost every day this season. Also, I bought a pink round neck cardigan
and it’s so cute.
I Stock My Spices
In
winter it's really important to keep your gut warm. So, I try to add spices to
my food, which helps both taste-wise and health-wise. I buy spices separately,
toast them a little, ground them and store them. In this way, I don't have to
grind them now and then.
As
I have recently shifted to University, I brought with me some Chai masala and often
add them to my tea. It can also be used in curries(Multipurpose, you know!)
I Declutter My Wardrobe
Winter
clothes need their own space. So, I move my summer clothes from the wardrobe
and replace them with washed winter clothes as soon as winter arrives.
Room Fresheners
Winter
months can be gloomy, so, I like my room to smell fresh so that I do not sit
around being lazy. Strong smell gives me headache, so I stick to one particular
brand of incense sticks (Why don’t you DM me on Instagram to ask which one?).
You can also use scented candles, incense sticks or an oil diffuser. Well, I
will get an oil diffuser very soon.
