5 SIMPLE WAYS TO GET ALL YOUR WORK DONE
If getting your work completed is what you struggle
with, then this list might help you through. But, let me put it beforehand that
this list isn’t going to miraculously resolve complications but will definitely give
you quite a bit of idea as to how to proceed when you feel stuck or overwhelmed
by all the pending work at hand. Bringing steadiness to the work routine is what
we need to focus on. Completing work(which may include any sort of work)
without stressing ourselves and sacrificing our ‘me- time’ should be the main
agenda. So, let’s dive in!
01. KEEP TASKS SIMPLE
First of all, it is always essential to get
our work done by keeping things simple. If you have to complete alot of work in
one given day— say, pending work, you have to do this and that and in the end,
you end up finishing nothing.
Why?
Because, you have overburdened yourself with work.
Thus, simplify your to-do list as much as you can, i.e. make realistic goals
only. For instance, I can read 50 pages of a book a day along with making notes,
write 1 blog post, do some laundry complete along other essential activities of
the day. But, on the other hand, if I make unrealistic goals, say, to complete
200 pages of a book and complete 2 blog posts along with laundry and other essential
activities of the day. As it is apparent, I am not being practical with myself
and then if I push myself very hard, I might not even complete one of these
tasks. My brain will exhaust itself even by the thought of it. Thus, keep the work
list simple and realistic. Realistic goals are achievable and help us in
remaining determined.
02. WRITE A LIST
Before getting down to start your day, write down
a to-do list, for it will make things clearer. Make 2 columns: ‘important tasks’ and ‘tasks’. Complete the work in the important
tasks list first and then, move on to the next. This way, you will complete the
priority tasks first and you won’t have to worry.
Whenever you
complete a task, tick it off. Ticking off will give you sense of completeness.
03. DO ONE WORK AT A TIME
Focus on one work at a time, something I have
personally struggled with a lot. I remember, during my term-examinations when I
studied, I kept checking my phone (WARNING: never try it) which automatically
slowed down my progress and took away my focus every few minutes. Studying
without concentration is a sheer waste of time as you all know. Multi-tasking
is useless as well as harmful. Concentrate only on the work you are doing and
you will get the best results in no time. Any work done with concentration has
all your energy and attention absorbed.
Cluttered desk will make you lazy, trust me.
If you are working on your desk or studying, then make sure you keep it clean.
Clean work-space will clear up your mind, make you feel fresher and help you to
concentrate. Added to that, you can light some incense sticks or turn on a
diffuser to boost your concentration.
05. DRINK WATER
Work will stress you out: your eyes, your
muscles, your body, your mind. Keep a glass/bottle/jar of water near you. I
keep a mason jar filled with water and keep sipping water in between. Water
keeps you hydrated and provides us all the essential nutrients.
