REVIEW : BIO MUSK ROOT TREATMENT(BIOTIQUE)

When not taken proper care of, hair becomes dry and lifeless. A ready-made hair mask always helps, for one can directly apply it from the bottle. However, I always recommend my readers to avoid chemicals andto choose products which are made from toxin free ingredients. One such hair mask is the Biotique’s Bio Musk Root hair mask.

PACKAGING
The mask comes in a white tube with a green lid. It contains 230gms and costs Rs.230. I got it for Rs.175, thanks to Nykaa!

SMELL

The product has a strong smell, similar to strong smelling herbs.

INGREDIENTS (as mentioned on the box)

Mulethi Root, Amla fruit, Behda fruit, Harar fruit, Jaiphal seeds, Baelphal, Jatamansi root, Bringraj plant, Kikargond, Neem bark, Purified water.
All these ingredients are known to be beneficial for the scalp health.
MUSK ROOT has been called “the divine herb,” found deep in the Himalayas and used for centuries to promote hair growth. This nourishing treatment pack is a blend of pure musk root, bael, liquorice and nutmeg to invigorate and rejuvenate the scalp, add strength to every strand and promote growth for longer, thicker, stronger hair.(on the box)

EXPIRY DATE
3 years from manufacture.
Note that it has a long shelf life, thus, it certainly has preservatives but the box doesn’t mention it clearly. However, it should also be mentioned that products do need preservatives to avoid catching bacteria and growing molds.

HOW TO USE
Either mix with curd or egg to apply on the scalp and hair.

MY FINAL THOUGHTS

Who doesn’t love using ready-made hair masks? Made with a wide range of Ayurvedic plants known to benefit the hair and scalp, the product is great. But, I didn’t notice any hair growth as claimed on the box although it made my hair soft and shiny after use.
Due to the fact that it has a very thick consistency, it cannot be applied alone but has to be mixed with other ingredients such as egg or curd, which are also beneficial for the hair. Hence, only a small amount of the product is used.
Eggs provides protein to the hair but putting an egg hair mask is both a task and the smell might be unbearable for many (including me).
In this case, Bio Musk Root pack is a saviour. By adding it to a beaten egg, one can mask the smell of the egg. So, even if you add just 1 tsp of Bio Musk pack, you can easily put on egg mask without any difficulty. Actually, the strong herbal smell is a saviour in this situation.

PROS

  • Affordable (230gm for Rs.170)
  • It lasts for 2-3 months, even if used once every week (it depends on the hair length too)
  • Smells good although it is strong (some of you might not like it)
  • Ingredients are great
  • It makes hair shiny after wash
CONS

  • After washing it off, you may find tiny grains in your hair and even after you wash it properly. But, do not worry as you can brush it off after the hair dries.

Overall it’s an affordable hair mask

Will I repurchase it? Yes
