Orange peel powder even smells amazing and I have been incorporating it in my skincare schedule for about a month now. It’s very refreshing and gives an instant glow. But, like I always say, we have to be consistent to see any visible results.

WHY USE ORANGE PEEL POWDER?

Orange peel powder is not only full of anti-oxidants but it is also loaded with vitamin C. It can regulate the production of sebum in our skin, thereby balancing its natural oil as well as making it firm and healthy. Orange peel powder can work as an astringent and can tone the skin up. It is also known to have anti microbial and anti bacterial properties which makes it great for the skin.

STEPS TO MAKE YOUR OWN ORANGE PEEL POWDER:
  1. Collect orange peels and take out the white fibrous portion.
  2. Wash them and put them in wide clean tray.
  3. Sun-dry the peels for 4-5 days until they are completely dry and crisp. You should be able to break them with your hands.
  4. Grind them into a fine powder/coarse powder. You might have to grind it 2-3 times.
  5. Finally, store it in an airtight container. But make sure to use it within 6 months.

Water (as required)
Mix all the ingredients to form a smooth paste (not too thick or too runny) and apply on your clean face for 10-15 mins. Use toner and moisturizer as usual.

MASK 2
½ tsp gram flour
1 tsp orange peel powder
1 tsp curd
Mix the curd and orange peel powder. Add just enough gram flour to get a smooth paste. Then, apply the mask on your clean face and leave it on for 10-15 minutes. Rinse it off and apply toner and moisturizer.

WORD OF CAUTION
  • Just because it is natural doesn’t mean it will suit your skin. So, make sure you do a patch test or try it out first (especially people with highly sensitive skin).
  • If orange peel powder is coarsely ground , then, do not rub the skin too hard. Remember mild exfoliation is the aim. Gently wash off the face mask after the desired time.
